A note from our sexual healthcare expert
Levitra (Vardenafil) is a prescription drug that is used to treat erectile dysfunction. It works by enhancing blood flow to the penis. It’s usually taken 30 to 60 minutes before any sexual activity, and its effects last up to five hours. Avoid heavy meals or excessive alcohol with this medication.
Seek immediate medical attention if you experience chest pain, vision changes, or an erection lasting more than four hours. Avoid using Levitra with nitrates or if you have heart, liver or blood pressure conditions.
Always take your doctor’s advice and inform them of other medications or health issues.
Levitra is a prescription medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It belongs to a class of drugs called PDE5 inhibitors, which work by increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, helping to achieve and maintain an erection.
Levitra should not be taken with nitrates, and patients should always consult their doctor before starting it to ensure it is safe.

How long before sex should I take Levitra?
Take Levitra about 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity. It starts working within that time frame, and its effects can last up to 4-5 hours. Sexual stimulation is still needed for the medication to work.
Can I take Levitra with food or alcohol?
Yes, but avoid high-fat meals close to the time you take it, as they can slow down its effectiveness. It can also be taken on an empty stomach. Limit alcohol, as it may increase side effects like dizziness or lower blood pressure.
Can I take Levitra every day?
Levitra is not intended for daily use unless specifically prescribed in that way by your doctor. Taking it too frequently can increase the risk of various side effects and complications.
What happens if Levitra doesn’t work for me?
If Levitra doesn’t work after a few tries, it is best to take advice from your doctor. Sometimes it takes a few attempts to see results, especially if there are underlying health issues or medications affecting performance. Your doctor may adjust your dose or recommend a different treatment.
Take Levitra about 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity, as directed by your doctor. It doesn’t cause an automatic erection as you will still need sexual stimulation for it to work.
Swallow the tablet with water, with or without food. Avoid high-fat meals.
Don’t take more than one dose in 24 hours. If you miss a planned dose, just skip it as Levitra should be taken only when needed.
