PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Each Cerelle tablet contains desogestrel, a synthetic progestogen hormone. Cerelle is conveniently packaged in a discreet blister pack, making it easy to carry and use daily. The pill works by thickening the cervical mucus, which prevents sperm from reaching the egg, and may also alter the uterine lining to inhibit implantation of a fertilized egg.

HOW TO USE

  1. Daily Use: Take one Cerelle tablet at the same time every day without any breaks between packs. Consistency is crucial to maintaining its effectiveness.

  2. Start: You can start taking Cerelle on the first day of your menstrual cycle for immediate protection. If you start at another time, use additional contraception, such as condoms, for the first seven days.

  3. Missed Dose: If you miss a tablet or are more than 12 hours late, take the missed pill as soon as you remember and continue with the next pill at the usual time. Use backup contraception for the next two days to ensure continued protection.

SIDE EFFECTS

Cerelle is generally well-tolerated, but some users may experience side effects. Common side effects include irregular bleeding or spotting, headaches, nausea, acne, and mood changes. These side effects usually diminish as your body adjusts to the medication. Rare but more serious side effects can include ovarian cysts and ectopic pregnancy. If you experience severe abdominal pain, heavy bleeding, or signs of an allergic reaction, seek medical attention immediately.
